WHAT IS A CHILD CONTACT CENTRE?
A Child Contact Centre is a safe, neutral environment
where children can meet parents or extended family
members whom they no longer live with.
HOW THE CENTRE WORKS.
Before contact begins parents will each attend a information meeting with a member of staff. This meeting will provide an opportunity for staff and parents to :
Both parents/guardians will be required to sign a parental agreement. In addition the centre can be used as a handover point.
The Centre does not make any written or verbal reports to referring agencies about contact apart from the dates and times of attendance (unless referred by Children Court Service). The only exception to this is if we believe that the child is at risk, or a member of staff, or volunteer or centre user is at risk or harm. Contact Centre users are also requested to respect the confidentiality of other Service Users.
Cloona Child Contact Centre provides a neutral meeting place where children of separated families can enjoy contact with one or both parents (and sometimes other family members) in a comfortable and safe environment. Staff and volunteers at the Centre are always available to help, they are impartial and respect confidentiality.
